Halyna Regenbogen

My art career has spanned over 50 years with B.A,B.ED,and MFA degrees. I have pursued my art working and exhibiting in New York City, teaching art at the University of Windsor and in various High Schools. I have facilitated Art workshops in Windsor, Peterborough, Ottawa, and in Midland. I have had solo and group Art Exhibitions in Toronto, NYC, Chicago, London Regional Art Gallery, Peterborough, Ottawa, Windsor, Midland, Orillia, and Blue Mountain. 

My work is in public collections of Canada Council Art Bank, Detroit Institute of Arts, Canadian Museum of Civilization, Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor Branch, Jackson Park in Windsor, Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art in Chicago, Saints Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church in Windsor, Mizoch Church in western Ukraine and in private collections. 

I have received Canada Council Arts grant, Canada Council Short Term Grants, Ontario Arts Council Grants, participated in AGO Artists with Their Works Program and in Sculpture Today/Sculpture 10 Film Presentation. I am a Founding Member of ARTCITE gallery in Windsor, Ontario, an artist run space.I have taken part in several interior installations in Windsor and in London and in outdoor spaces.

Since moving from Windsor to the Georgian Bay area , I have exhibited, at Quest Gallery in Midland, at Orillia Museum and History in Orillia, Le Studio Art Gallery in Lafontaine ,in the Municipal Art Program in Blue Mountain, Ontario. I have also taken part in the Studio Bay Tours and The Library Garden Tour. 

I work in various mediums painting, drawing, and sculpture. My main impetus has always been sculpture and I have carved masks, created with wood branches many figurative sculptures that were meant to inhabit in nature .The constructed figures are over 6 to 7 feet tall and presently embody Ukrainian symbols as my attempt at solidarity with my Ukrainian heritage.
